Local Centre
As part of the proposals Crest will be making land available for the delivery of a new high quality, mixed use local neighbourhood centre for use by the new community at Shenley Park, as well as the surrounding communities in both Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
The local centre will include a new primary school and nursery as well as a range of commercial spaces and a community facility to meet the needs of the development.
Care Home
The local centre will also include a mixed-use building with commercial uses on ground floor and residential above, a community facility and a care home / extra care facility.
The provision of a care home / extra care facility will help address a shortage of retirement and care units in the locality, providing safe, sheltered accommodation.
Outdoor Sports
The plans include provision for a primary school, with sports facilities proposed south of the school and southeast of the semi-natural Green Space.
Subject to further consultation, these could include:
- Two football pitches
- One cricket pitch
- Multi-use games areas allowing for football and basketball and three tennis courts.
- A pavilion with changing facilities and parking
The provision of sports facilities will enable residents from Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to access the facilities and provide an opportunity for future collaboration with sports clubs, including those located within Milton Keynes.
